Taregna: Best place to witness eclipse
Taregna, Bihar:

Perhaps the best spot to see the eclipse in India is Taregna in Bihar which will see the longest eclipse.

Taregna was visited by ancient astronomer Aryabhatta who set up a camp to study movement of stars in the fifth century.

It will be Taregna's big day on Wednesday, and this small town is preparing in a big way. It's no coincidence perhaps, that the best views of the eclipse will come from the workplace of noted sixth century mathematician and astronomer Aryabhatta, one of the first to explain the concept of the eclipse.

"It's is perhaps no coincidence that the century s longest solar eclipse is happening from here," said Amitabh Pandey, founder, Space Organisation.

The local hospital roof has been converted into an observatory with special facilities. Loud speakers have been attached to them so that scientists can explain local people of the events that is going to take place.

Telescopes have been mounted so that people can have a better look of the eclipse and large screens to be put out so that those who don't have the equipment to see the eclipse can observe it through the screens.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, scientists from NASA and ISRO and a few tourists are expected here on Wednesday morning.

Taregna residents say they'll also be watching.

"I will watch with goggles," said a girl from Teragna.

The only cause for concern here, are the dark clouds, but everyone's hoping they will relent and we will get to view this grand spectacle in its entirety.
