TDP starts 'bus yatra' against Telangana
Hyderabad: Stepping up its campaign for an integrated Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam on Friday launched a 'bus yatra' from Tirupati that will traverse across Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions for 11 days.

"We will meet various sections of the society during the tour and raise awareness on the need for a united Andhra Pradesh. We will expose how Sonia Gandhi decided to cut the state into pieces like a cake on her birth day", senior TDP MLA G Muddukrishnama Naidu said in Tirupati.

The TDP leaders kicked off the 'yatra' after garlanding a statue of Potti Sriramulu, whose fast-unto-death led to the formation of Andhra state on linguistic basis, in the temple town.

The TDP leaders and activists also paid homage to party founder and late Chief Minister N T Rama Rao at Tirupati.

"Congress has decided to cut the state into pieces. Only an integrated State is in the interest of all," senior TDP leader Y Ramakrishnudu said.

The 'bus yatra' would end at Srikakulam, bordering Orissa, in coastal Andhra.
