School children across the country watched the PM's address on television.
New Delhi:
After becoming Prime Minister, he really had to be careful with words, Mr Narendra Modi confided to students during his question-answer session with them on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
The Prime Minister, whose skills as an orator is acknowledged across the board, said, "When I was chief minister, I did not have to care much about what I was saying, but now I have to be careful so that whatever I say does not cause harm to the nation. I remain conscious of what I say."
Life has changed in other ways too, the PM said in answer to students' queries. Among other things, he was getting very little time to read.
But otherwise, due to his long stint as the chief minister of Gujarat, he did not find the role of prime minister very different, Mr Modi added.
