New Delhi: While baby Falak fights for her life, the horrific story about the teenage girl, who brought the battered baby to the hospital, has surfaced. The girl has lived a life of abuse. The police have arrested her father along with three more people in connection to the teenager's abuse. But, the main accused, Rajkumar, is still at large.
The 15-year-old girl who brought Baby Falak to the hospital, had allegedly told the doctors that she was her mother and that the baby's injuries were the result of a fall from her bed. The doctors at the hospital had informed the police as the claims made by her did not match with the injuries seen on the child's body.
The girl's torment started in a Delhi slum in Sangam Vihar. Her mother had died and the father used to beat her so badly that she ran away from home in June last year. The father filed a case of kidnapping, but the girl was not to be found.
The 15-year-old later told the Child Welfare Committee that Sandeep repeatedly raped her. His friend - Rajkumar, a taxi driver - took her to customers. She agreed to live with Rajkumar in the hope of getting out of prostitution. It was then that Rajkumar brought Falak to her.
Alone, angry, without money and at her wits' end, she was unable to care for Falak and in frustration she would beat the baby up. The girl said one day she accidentally dropped Falak in the bathroom, after which the baby's condition deteriorated. The worried girl brought her to the hospital.
