Police have claimed the girl died in a accident, but her family claims she was thrown off the train.
Bareilly:
A 16-year-old girl's body was found at the Atamanda railway station in Bareilly, with her family claiming that she was thrown off a moving train.
Ms Shaheen, who belongs to Uttarakhand's Haldwani district, had boarded the Lalkaun-Bareilly city express for Bareilly and her body was found at the Atamanda railway station last night, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem, they said.
While Circle Officer Jitendra Singh said the girl died in an accident and was not thrown off, her family has alleged that she was on her way to consult a doctor in Bareilly and there was no chance of her trying to get down the train which could have led to any mishap.
Notably, the train does not have a stoppage at the railway station where Ms Shaheen's body was found.
There have been incidents of eve teasing in trains on the route, the girl's family alleged and maintained that she was thrown off the moving train.
A case has been lodged and an investigation is on, police added.
