A teenager was today badly beaten up and then thrown into a well where he drowned for allegedly plucking jackfruit from an orchard, police said.
Mitrasen (17) was badly beaten up by Jitendra, Golu, Ashwani and Arun for plucking jackfruit from their orchard at Singpur village in Mirzapur area, police said, adding that they later threw the minor into a well where he drowned.
On being informed, the victim's brother, Damodar, reached the spot with other villagers and took out the body from the well.
Circle Officer Umesh Sharma said an FIR has been lodged against the four accused and attempts are on to nab them.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, he added.
