Panjim: A court in Goa has extended Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal's police custody by four days. Mr Tejpal is accused of raping a junior colleague at an annual Tehelka conference in Goa last month. He was arrested last Saturday after a court denied his anticipatory bail plea.
The weekly magazine's former managing editor Shoma Chaudhury recorded her statement before a magistrate in Goa today. She had resigned from her post last month.
The woman journalist, who has accused Mr Tejpal of rape, had detailed her allegations against him to Ms Chaudhury, in an email that was leaked.
The Goa Police used that email to commence its investigation against Mr Tejpal.
