Patna:
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav and his mother senior RJD leader Rabri Devi today lashed out at
BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi and other legislators of the party for their "belated move" to return gifts given by the education department.
The two RJD leaders asked the BJP leaders to explain why they took those gifts if they deemed it as waste of public money.
Slamming Mr Modi and other BJP legislators, Mr Yadav said they should not have taken those things in the first place to avoid a situation where they had to return them.
Chiding the BJP lawmakers of playing politics over gifts, Mr Yadav said Mr Modi and others had no qualms in accepting gifts when they were in power for which they owed an explanation to the people.
"The BJP legislators, including (Sushil Kumar) Modi, had received gifts during the erstwhile RJD rule too. They should return those gifts as well and those received during the NDA regime over eight years," Ms Rabri Devi told reporters in the legislative council precincts.
