New Delhi:
Telangana leader K Chandrashekhara Rao or KCR will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh later today to try and find a way out of the current crisis amid reports that the Congress may be veering towards a bifurcation of the state.
KCR, leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, and his followers have been in the capital for the past few days. They held a sit-in at Rajghat yesterday to highlight Telangana statehood demand and rejected the government's decision to hold "further consultation".
TRS leaders said their leader had undertaken the sit-in to highlight their demand for the creation of a Telangana state and to tell the Centre that "time was running out" to take a decision on the issue.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Congress General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, had on Saturday, said more consultations are needed on the issue and that they would need some time. Azad also said it was not an "easy decision" to take.
