Hyderabad: Ministers from Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh today appealed to the state's non gazette officers to call off their indefinite strike and pave the way for division of the state.

"We request the AP NGOs to call off their strike and co-operate in the bifurcation process. As ministers from Telangana we assure them that all their problems will be resolved," Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy told reporters after a meeting of the ministers in Hyderabad today.

He said the existing government itself would work to resolve the AP NGOs' (non-gazetted officers) problems.

"The government will ensure safety and security of all employees from Andhra-Rayalaseema regions working in Hyderabad. No loss will be caused to them in Hyderabad," Jana Reddy added.

The Panchayat Raj Minister said there was need to build camaraderie between AP NGOs and Telangana NGOs.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders from Telangana will meet in Hyderabad on August 18 to express gratitude to party chief Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood to the region.
