Hyderabad: It is a rather different form of protest taking place in Telangana towns, with those supporting the cause of a separate state, cooking, eating, dancing, studying, playing all on the road.
As the teachers shout pro-Telangana slogans, students write 'Jai Telangana' in their notebooks. Similar classrooms are being held on the road in different parts of Telangana to showcase the public mood.
"We students are writing Jai Telangana in English, Hindi and Telugu one crore times to show our solidarity for Telangana, while sitting here on the road.'', says a student.
Over the last two days, those agitating for a separate Telangana have been cooking and even eating on the road. There is time for fun and frolic as well like a game of kabaddi and some songs as well.
G.Kamalakar, a TDP MLA, says, "If you want people to stop these protests, you announce a timeframe for separate Telangana. Otherwise we will not stop. If you want to only constitute committees like these, people will agitate even more.''
Pro-Telangana activists say they do not want to be 'out of sight, out of mind' because a let-up in the agitation could put Telangana on the backburner.
