New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has not accepted the resignations of 13 lawmakers from Andhra Pradesh's Seemandhra region, which includes YSR Congress Party's Jagan Mohan Reddy.
A statement issued by the speaker's office today said "no resignation has been accepted".
The lawmakers from Rayalseema and coastal Andhra regions had resigned opposing the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to create a separate state called Telangana.
One of the 13 lawmakers - Lagadapati Rajagopal - had even gone to the Delhi High Court asking it to direct the speaker to accept his resignation.
