Somnath, Gujarat:
Senior BJP leader L K Advani visited the Somnath temple in Gujarat on Saturday along with former BJP leader Umar Bharti.
Even though the visit marks the 20 years of Advani's historic rath yatra which he started from this very temple in 1990, the joint visit by Advani and Uma Bharti to the temple comes after top level BJP sources told NDTV in July that the party is seriously considering Uma's return to the party.
In fact, sources have indicated that the process of Uma's return to the BJP fold is on.
After her expulsion from the BJP in 2005, Uma Bharti had floated her own party Bharatiya Janshakti Party but she resigned from it earlier this year.
ADVANI MUM ON UMA'S RE-ENTRY TO BJP
Senior BJP leader LK Advani, however, side stepped questions on the possible return of Uma Bharti to the party, after she accompanied him on the Somnath temple visit.
"She (Uma) had expressed the desire to come with me to Somnath and that is the reason she is here," Advani said refusing to entertain any questions on whether the firebrand leader was set to rejoin BJP. (With PTI inputs)
