Ten boys at a private residential school in central Bengaluru have had their heads tonsured. The police, who received a complaint from two families, are investigating the case.
Sandeep Patil, the deputy commissioner of police, central Bengaluru, said according to the complaints, the hostel warden had forcibly tonsured the boys.
One of the boys had been tonsured on January 28, the other - two days later.
"Our investigation revealed that altogether, 10 students were subjected to the treatment. We will be taking strict action," Mr Patil said.
The police will also be writing to the education department, so "simultaneous inquiry and action can be taken by the education department too," he added.
