Khammam, Andhra Pradesh:
Andhra Pradesh home minister Sabita Indra Reddy has summoned all ministers and senior leaders from the Telangana region and also the DGP and the intelligence chief to take stock of the law and order situation in the Telangana districts of the state.
This is in view of the tense situation in the Telangana districts with K Chandrashekhara Rao or KCR reportedly continuing his fast inside jail and his health condition reportedly deteriorating as he is diabetic.
KCR's son K.T.Rama Rao, an MLA of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti that KCR heads, has said in Khammam: "All the doctors and other officials of the administration in Khammam are from Andhra region and therefore there is a threat to KCR's life here. So we want him to be shifted from Khammam to Hyderabad or Warangal.''
A joint action committee of students supporting the demand for a separate Telangana state held a meeting on Tuesday night. The students were angry over reports that KCR gave up his fast, but now they are once again threatening that if anything happens to KCR, Telangana will burn.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has, meanwhile, directed the authorities to facilitate a meeting between KCR and his family members.
