Jammu: Three unidentified terrorists were killed today in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, army said.
Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists in Putshai area of Lolab in the district, security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation today, an army official said.
He said as the search operation was going on, hiding terrorists fired upon the forces triggering an encounter.
Three terrorists have been killed in the operation so far, the official said.
The official said that the identity of the slain terrorists was not immediately known.
The operation was going on when last reports came in, the official added.
