An unidentified terrorist was today killed in a gunbattle with security forces during an ongoing operation north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
The terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in the dense forests of Manigah, an army official said, adding further details were awaited.
Security forces are continuing a massive search operation in the forest near the Line of Control (LoC) since November 13 following information about the presence of a group of heavily-armed terrorists.
On November 17, an encounter between terrorists and security forces left commanding officer of 41 Rashtriya Rifles Colonel Santosh Mahadik dead.
