Two soldiers were killed during an anti-terror operation in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir this morning, police officials said.
One terrorist was gunned down during the encounter in the Zainpora area early this morning, they said.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in Zainpora area, police officials said.
As the forces were conducting searches in the area, the hiding terrorists fired upon them and in the ensuing encounter, two Army men were killed, a police official said.
One terrorist was also killed by the security forces, they said, adding that the identity of the killed terrorist is being ascertained.
