Srinagar: A retired police officer shot at by terrorists in Kulgam district of south Kashmir has died, police said today.
Bashir Ahmad Dar, a retired Superintendent of Police, was attacked late last night near his residence in Ashmuji.
"At about 11.30 pm, some unknown militants fired upon a retired SP Bashir Ahmad Dar near his residence at Ashmuji in Kulgam," a police official said.
He said Mr Dar was rushed to the SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar but was declared dead on arrival.
