Pak Markings On Food Found On Terrorists Who Attempted Uri-Style Attack: 10 Points

Pakistan markings were found on medicines recovered from terrorists killed in Kashmir's Langate

Highlights

  • Terrorists fired at posts of army camp in north Kashmir, ran away
  • 3 terrorists killed as they tried to escape after firing
  • Three infiltration attempts stopped at Line of Control since last night
Langate: Seven terrorists were killed today in Jammu and Kashmir while trying to attack an army camp and in infiltration attempts. Three of the terrorists attempted an Uri-style attack on an army camp in Kashmir's Langate at daybreak. Food and medical supplies with Pakistani markings were found on them, said the army.

Here are 10 developments in the story:

  1. The three terrorists who opened fire on posts of the 30 Rashtriya Rifles camp in Langate were shot dead before they could enter the camp.

  2. "The terrorists fired indiscriminately on our sentry posts and on our jawans who were resting," said commanding officer Colonel Rajiv Sharang.

  3. In a sign that the terrorists were prepared for a major attack, the army has found three AK 47 rifles, grenade launchers, a large quantity of ammunition, GPS, radio sets, maps and metric sheets along with food.

  4. Four more terrorists were killed while trying to cross over in the Naugam sector. The infiltration attempts, the army said, were assisted by Pakistani troops.

  5. In the past five days, there have been 25 ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

  6. On September 18, terrorists attacked an army camp in Kashmir's Uri, leaving 19 soldiers dead and causing the most number of deaths the army has suffered in years.

  7. The army's surgical strikes last week targeting terrorist launch pads or staging areas in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir were seen as retaliation against the Uri attack. Pakistan denied the strikes, calling them "cross-border firing".

  8. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was informed in a report by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval that nearly 100 terrorists are being prepped to cross the Line of Control and launch attacks in India.

  9. Top ministers were also told that after India's surgical strikes, the Pakistani infantry is protecting launch pads near the Line of Control.

  10. Repeated firing by Pakistan at the border over the past few days reinforces concerns about attempts to send across a large number of terrorists to launch fresh attacks and to re-instigate violence in the Kashmir Valley, which saw nearly 90 people killed and at least 10,000 injured after the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani.
