Malda:
Seven construction workers from Malda district in West Bengal were among those killed in building collapse at Thane district in Maharashtra, the Malda district administration said today.
"Seven persons who went to work in the eight-storey under-construction building in Thane district died yesterday," District Magistrate G Kirankumar said.
All of them belonged to Babla village and adjoining areas at Kaliachak in Malda district, he said.
The bodies were being brought to their homes in the district, Mr Kirankumar said.
Forty one bodies have been recovered from under the debris of the collapsed building at Shil Phata in Thane district.
While 50 people were injured, rescuers fear that some victims are still trapped under the debris.
