A woman constable of Thane District Central Jail has accused the Jail Superintendent of molesting her, following which he has been booked, police said today.
As per the complaint, the accused Hiralal Jadhav met the woman at the Kalwa bridge on August 26 and allegedly abused her, Thane Police Public Relations Officer Sukhada Narkar said.
On August 29, Jadhav also allegedly messaged her and asked her to meet him. He also sent her pictures on Whatsapp, the official said.
A case under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354(a) (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Thane Nagar Police Station last night, she said, adding probe is underway.
