The Gandhi pocket borough of Rae Bareily voted on Thursday.
It may have no dearth of Congress faithfuls, but that didn't stop the dynasty's daughter from setting up base here to campaign for her mother.
Considered the most charismatic of the Gandhis, Priyanka is often compared to Indira Gandhi.
"I often wear my grandmother's sarees and since she was shorter than me I have to often use an extra cloth," Priyanka Gandhi said.
Priyanka has campaigned at length for her mother in Rae Bareily, holding many rallies in the last few weeks.
"I will not come here and ask for your votes as that would mean that I am insulting you. You have given us your love and your support. And it is on this love and support that I stand here today. You have given me and my family strength," she was heard to say.
So will this experience lead her own career in politics?
In a recent interview to NDTV's Barkha Dutt, when Priyanka was asked, "So you knew you were good at it, basically?"
Priyanka Gandhi replied, "I know, I'm not a fool. I know I'm comfortable with people; it's not an effort for me to talk in front of people or to say what I think or to connect to them, it's not an effort at all. But does that mean I want to be in politics? No."
Priyanka Gandhi has been the face of the campaign for her mother and brother. But will the party test her magic outside Rae Bareily and Amethi? That remains to be seen.
