Hyderabad:
The scale of the search for YSR was unprecedented.
At 8 am, army choppers located the crash on the Rudrakod hilltop, 10 km from Atmakur, where the search mission was based. They dropped papers for the ground staff with coordinates for the crash, so the ground party could move accordingly.
2000 soldiers, including local police and anti-Naxal forces had searched the area for over 18 hours. They were assisted by Local Chenchu tribals, who know the forests in the area.
Companies of CRPF arrived from Hyderabad, while the latest hi-tech navy boats resumed scanning the Krishna river.
Since Wednesday, Sukhoi 30 aircraft, 11 helicopters, and an ISRO low flying aircraft had been scanning the forests for any signs of YSR's helicopter.
