Drishti Harchandrai wrote a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai:
For Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, requests for interviews would be nothing new. But this time, the interview seeker was an 11-year-old neighbor, who made the request - and got turned away by the security guards.
Drishti Harchandrai is a student of Class V at Mumbai's JB Petit School. She lives in Malabar Hill, near the Sahyadri guest house, where the Chief Minister is currently staying.
She wanted to interview the Chief Minister as part of her school homework. She tried her luck on Sunday, but was sent home by the securitymen.
Miffed, she wrote to the Chief Minister -- one full sheet of her school exercise book.
"The security guards are not allowing me in, if and when you get my letter please call on my cell number... I need an interview for school," she wrote.
She even gave her address, where the Chief Minister could "send somebody" to tell her that he was "officially" inviting her.
A request was written below the address - "Do not ignore this letter please".
Mr Fadnavis, father of five-year-old Divija, complied.
The Chief Minister's office said the same afternoon, before leaving for Nagpur, he sent his staff to call her and ensured the little girl could complete her homework.
