Three die of sunstroke in Andhra

Hyderabad: Three persons died due to sunstroke in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh today even as various parts of the state reeled under scorching heat with the mercury oscillating between 40 and 46 degree Celsius.

"Three labourers died due to sunstroke in Hanwada Mandal. The temperature across Mahabubnagar district was in the range of 44-45 degree Celsius," District Collector Purshotam Reddy told PTI.
     
The temperature in Hyderabad city dropped to 43 degree Celsius from yesterday's 45 degree C. Severe heat wave conditions continued in different districts of Andhra Pradesh.
   
According to Met officials here, Nizamabad district recorded highest temperature of 46.4 degree Celsius, followed by Kadapa (44), Kurnool and Anantapur (43 each) and Gannavaram (40 degree C).
    
The Met office said the temperature may oscillate between 42 and 44 degrees for the next one week in the state capital.
    
The heat wave conditions may continue to prevail in Telangana and in the districts of Kadapa and Chittoor of Rayalseema as also isolated parts of coastal regions during the next two days, according to the Met Department.
