Berhampur, Odisha:
Three employees of the special sub-jail at Bhanjanagar in Odisha's Ganjam district were suspended for alleged dereliction in duty,official sources said today.
The action came four days after a shooting incident in the sub-jail in which a prisoner was killed.
The suspended employees are Superintendent of the jail Govinda Chandra Sur, head warder Nabin Sethi and gate warder A Satya Narayan Dora, sources said adding the three were present during the firing incident.
Kalia Swain, an under-trial prisoner and a double murder accused was shot dead in the firing allegedly by two co-inmates in the prison premises.
The accused persons- Manoj Pradhan and Babu Mishra had escaped from the jail after committing the crime.
The two were re-arrested by the police near Tarsingi following an encounter and two revolvers and some ammunition seized from them.
