Kota:
After several incidents of rape in Uttar Pradesh shocked the country last week, three cases of minor girls being targeted have now emerged from Rajasthan as well.
Over the weekend, three girls were allegedly raped and one of them murdered in separate incidents in Rajasthan.
Following the incidents, the state government and police have got cracking. All accused in all three separate cases were arrested within 24 hours of the crime taking place. Only one person is still absconding in the case of the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl, said the police.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, in a series of tweets last night, said "Issued instructions to the DGP for ensuring that the guilty get the strictest possible punishment at the earliest... Justice to the victims is of paramount importance. Strictest possible action has been taken... The Guilty have not only been arrested but also sent to judicial custody."
On Saturday, a 14-year-old girl from the Kholi village went missing after she had gone to graze her goats. She was found dead on Sunday about a kilometre away from the village.
Her family alleges she was raped and strangled to death by three men of the same village, the police said, adding "The accused were booked under sections 302 (murder), 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act." Two of the three accused have been arrested.
In another incident on Saturday, a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Narayanpura village. A case under section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act was lodged against the accused, following which he was arrested.
In the third case, a 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped in her house in Ladli ka baas village in Dausa district. The accused has been arrested.
