A soldier was killed in the line of duty early this morning during an anti-terror operation in South Kashmir's Pulwama district in which three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were gunned down, police said.
The encounter broke out after security forces launched an anti-terror operation late last night at Zadoora area in the south Kashmir district. In the gunbattle that followed, three terrorists of the terror outfit were killed, police said.
This is the second anti-terror operation in the union territory in 24 hours. Four terrorists were killed and one was captured in Kiloora area of Shopian district in an encounter on Friday. The police said two of the four terrorists who were shot dead were involved in the kidnapping and killing of a panchayat member linked to the BJP.
