Dharamsala:
The exiled Tibetan government will donate Rs 5 lakh for relief and rehabilitation of flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashag (Tibetan Parliament in Dharamsala) announced, "The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) will provide Rs 5 lakh for assistance to flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir. This aid effort will be facilitated by the CTA's Department of Home."
The state had witnessed heavy rainfall recently which gave rise to fears of a September-like deluge as there was a slight rise in level of River Jhelum. The fears of impending floods receded after the state experienced no rain yesterday.
