Ranchi:
Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and five others who were travelling with him are safe after his helicopter crash-landed at the Ranchi airport on Wednesday morning.
- 11:04 am: The helicopter took off from Ranchi. Mr Munda was to visit his constituency, Sareikela-Kharsawan, just 100 kms Ranchi.
- 11:45am: The pilot then alerted Air Traffic Control that a problem with the rudder control system was making it hard to steer the chopper
- 11:50am: He was granted permission to make a precautionary landing and turned around. Emergency declared at Ranchi airport.
- 12:05pm: He hovered over the Ranchi airport for 10 minutes and made five attempts at landing
- 12:07pm: But finally, the helicopter crashed and fell on its side. Fortunately, a fire did not break out.
