A top American diplomat will travel to India next week as part of the ongoing US-India cooperation to advance mutual prosperity and regional stability.
Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet senior Indian officials during his two day visit to India on December 7 and 8.
"He will also visit a local business incubator as part of his ongoing outreach to build new bridges between policymakers and innovators," the State Department said in a statement. He will discuss a range of bilateral and global economic and security issues including ongoing US-India cooperation to advance mutual prosperity and regional stability, it said.
"From New Delhi, Mr Blinken would fly to Islamabad to attend the Heart of Asia ministerial, where he will discuss efforts to deepen regional cooperation on our goal of a fully peaceful and stable Afghanistan, as well as efforts to increase security and prosperity in the region as a whole."
While in Islamabad, Mr Blinken will also meet with senior Pakistani officials to follow up on Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's October visit to Washington and discuss ways to enhance their multidimensional relationship, the State Department said.
The Deputy Secretary will also give remarks at an event highlighting our partnership with Pakistan on providing educational opportunities for Pakistanis, especially for girls.
