Bangalore:
The ruling BJP in Karnataka won't have much time to celebrate their edge in the just concluded panchayat polls. There is still a difficult test ahead - the legislature session. The big issue that is likely to dominate both the Assembly and the Council is the land scam allegation against the BJP that rocked the state late last year.
Opposition leaders say they will not stall the session but are in no mood to give the state government an easy ride.
"In fact we are saying the BJP is stalling the Parliament against the Constitutional requirement. Keeping that in mind we will also take decisions - it is not that whatever they do we will have to do in vengeance.
We will take up the issues that are land scam, mining scam, administration and particularly, the money that was allocated in the budget - only 40 per cent is spent," said G Parameshwara, President, Karnataka Congress.
Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will certainly hear more than he would like of dubious land deals involving him and his family.
"We demand the resignation of the chief minister and we are going to expose all the scams with evidence, documents on the floor of the House. There is no question of boycotting the session," said YSV Datta, Spokesperson, JD(S).
