Sarfaraz Alam is a third term JD(U) legislator from Jokihat in Bihar's Araria district.

Janata Dal (United) lawmaker Sarfaraz Alam, who was arrested for allegedly abusing couple on train from Dibrugarh to Delhi, was granted bail on Sunday.
The lawmaker who was suspended by the ruling party in Bihar yesterday was called for questioning again earlier in the day, the second time since yesterday, and put under arrest later on, Railway Superintendent of Police PN Mishra told Press Trust of India.
Mr Alam, the third term JD(U) legislator from Jokihat in Araria district, was subjected to more grilling after his arrest, the official said.
His body guard and a personal staff who had accompanied him on Rajdhani Express on January 17 were also arrested along with him.
Later, the lawmaker was released on conditional bail on two sureties of Rs 20,000 each, Mr Mishra said, adding his body guard and personal staff have also been released.
The Jokihat legislator was released from railways police on five conditions.
These included depositing his passport, not meeting the complainant, cooperating in the ongoing investigation among others.
