Jamshedpur:
Rich tributes were paid today to the doyen of Indian industry Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhai Tata on his 112th birth anniversary besides in other operation locations including Kalinganagar, Odisha.
As a mark of tribute to the former Tata Steel Chairman, who was extremely passionate about flying and laid the foundation of civil aviation in India, a short film on his life and his passion for aviation, was screened at Sonari Airport by Tata Steel's Aviation department.
The special programme also included an Aero-modeling show and static display of aircraft, which attracted large number of people particularly school students.
The Sports department of Tata Steel organized a Cross Country race for Jogga school children to mark the occasion. Around 1,000 children participated in the event.
An under-12 and under-14 Football tournament was also organized at Armoury ground.
