Kolkata:
Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee today filed a defamation suit against West Bengal Left Front chairman Biman Bose in the Calcutta High Court demanding a compensation of Rs 10 crore.
Mr Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claimed that Mr Bose had during a news conference made a defamatory allegation against him with regard to primary Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) examination which was postponed over an alleged leak of question papers.
The matter is likely to come up in the court of Justice Soumen Sen later this week.
The examination, for which approximately 23 lakh candidates have applied, was earlier scheduled to be conducted on August 30 but has been postponed to October 4.
