Trinamool vs CPI(M): Mamata's delegation to meet PM

Trinamool vs CPI(M): Mamata's delegation to meet PM
New Delhi: A Trinamool Congress delegation comprising senior leaders will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday evening to complain about the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal.

This comes a day after Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee claimed that she can prove that Central forces were being misused by the Bengal government against Trinamool cadres.

The delegation is also likely to raise the issues of misuse of central forces, financial bankruptcy of the state and political killings.

On Wednesday, Banerjee said that she was ready to quit if she fails to prove that the CPI(M) was misusing central security forces brought for anti-Maoist operations in West Bengal.

"The CPI(M) is misusing the central forces. I would have nothing to say if the central forces were used against Maoists. If I cannot prove that the central forces are being misused by the CPI(M), I am ready to quit. Will the CPI(M) government also do so?" the Trinamool Congress chief had said.

"Central forces are being used to kill Trinamool Congress workers in West Bengal. 2,000 workers and supporters have been killed since the Lok Sabha elections. CPI(M) has unleashed a reign of terror," she had claimed.
