New Delhi: Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy was today given additional charge of Arunachal Pradesh during JP Rajkhowa's absence on leave.
"The President of India has been pleased to appoint Roy to discharge the functions of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Rajkhowa, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh," a press release issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
It did not, however, mention the period of leave of 72-year old Rajkhowa, who was yesterday admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore for treatment.
