A woman in Tripura allegedly strangled her nine-year-old son as she was frustrated with his "disobedient" behavior and couldn't handle him, as she told the police. The tragic case surfaced from Joynagar in Agartala on Monday evening.
The woman, Suprabha Bal, confessed to the crime and was seen sitting near her son's body when the police arrived. She has been arrested and charged.
Suprabha Bal, who worked as a daily labourer at a construction site, said her husband was missing and her daughter was married, so she was left to raise her son alone. She also told the police that she felt overwhelmed by her son Rajdeep's incessant misbehaviour, and that he stole money and neglected his studies.
"I couldn't go to work or live in peace because of his actions. I killed him and am ready to go to jail for it," she confessed.
The police have recovered a piece of rope and a bamboo stick from her home, which were allegedly used in the murder.
