Ramgarh (WB):
The Lalgarh operation entered its 11th day of operation on Sunday. Security forces will be consolidating their position at Ramgarh, which they reclaimed from the Maoists on Saturday.
Ramgarh is about 12 km from Lalgarh town. Two weeks ago, the Maoists had set fire to a local police outpost, which had been abandoned by the police force more than a month ago.
On Saturday, when security forces arrived at Ramgarh, local residents welcomed them, gave them drinking water and said they were feeling secure for the first time in seven months.
Security forces camping at Lalgrah town had briefly marched towards Ramgarh on Saturday. There next objective is to open up the road connecting Lalgarh to Ramgarh.
