At least 14 people were killed and about 24 others injured when a truck was hit by a speeding train at an unmanned railway crossing in the district on Sunday, officials said.
The accident took place when Gorakhpur-Ayodhya passenger train rammed into a truck at a crossing near Chak Rasoolpur village, between Mankapur and Nawabganj railway stations.
The injured have been admitted to nearby health centres, and senior officials have rushed to the spot.
