As India played against Australia in the World Cup semi-final match, Twitter was flooded with score updates. Meanwhile, some Australian cricket fans were being quite racist.
Before the match began, Karl Stefanovic, the host of popular TV morning show got called out for a comment in very poor taste.
This is what Stefanovic asked an Indian cricket fan on live TV: "I was just gonna ask ... Who's going to be manning 7-Elevens today?"
Yes, he really did that.
The Indian cricket fan retorted: "I'm not sure about who's going to be manning 7-Elevens but you might have to look at Centrelink as well I think Karl." Social media shot back too.
Can't believe @karlstefanovic this morning. I cringed so hard. Good to see the Indian cricket supporters give some back to him. #AUSvsIND

After the show, Karl, apparently unfazed, tweeted this:
For a variety of reasons it would be sweet as if Australia wins this World Cup. Otherwise I will have to buy my NZ lamb from another 7 11.

Australian rugby union captain Tim Horan tweeted this: "What are the chances of getting a taxi in Sydney later today. #taxidrivers #india #worldcup #cricket".
Tim Horan has now deleted the tweet and apologised for it.
Hi all earlier tweet today was an innocent error......never meant to offend anyone
