Twenty-three air space breaches by Pakistan since 2009

New Delhi: Pakistan military planes have violated the Indian air space at least 23 times since 2009 and all such violations were analysed and taken up with Islamabad through the laid down channels as per procedures, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.

Defence Minister AK Antony, in reply to the questions from the members, said that these violations were reported between January 2009 and April 2012, and a maximum of 11 air space violations by Pakistani defence forces were reported in 2010.

In 2009, the number of air space violations by Pakistan military planes stood at eight. In 2011 and in 2012 (till April), the numbers of such incidents were only two.

"All such violations are analysed and taken up with the concerned country through laid down channels as per established procedures," Mr Antony added.
