Jalpaiguri: Two workers of a tea garden in Jalpaiguri district have been arrested by police in connection with the killing of its owner.
Sunil Oraon and Kaure Oraon were arrested by police yesterday for killing Rajesh Jhunjhunwala, owner of Sonali tea garden, police said today.
Jhunjhunwala was hacked to death by workers of the tea garden after a meeting between them to settle workers' wage arrears failed yesterday.
The workers of the tea garden were angry with Jhunjhunwala alleging that he has not paid their salary for the last few months.
The two workers were produced before a local court today which remanded them to seven-day police custody.
