Jaipur: In a freak tragedy, two youngsters from Delhi drowned to death at Jaipur's three-star Hotel Ashoka. They, along with a couple of other friends, were on a brief vacation there.

The four friends saw the matinee show of Love Aaj Kal, and after returning to the hotel decided to go for a swim.

The pool was under maintenance, but unaware of this fact, Manish and Parwinder jumped into the pool. And Parwinder didn't know how to swim. By the time their friends Kalpesh and Anshul, who had gone to get towels, returned to the pool they found Manish and Parwinder drowning.

"They said they were feeling very hot and so wanted to swim. We came to know from the hotel reception that the pool is under maintenance. We then ran to tell our friends, but they were already struggling in the pool. We shouted out for help and tried to save them with the help of the hotel staff. But by the time we pulled them out it was too late," Kalpesh said.

The hotel staff reportedly even jumped into the pool to save the youngsters, but the police are now investigating whether negligence or foulplay led to the tragedy.
