Mumbai:
Once, his name induced fear.
Now, he hopes it will help calm nerves.
D K Rao, once a key aide of gangster Chhota Rajan, says he wants to set-up an institute that teaches yoga. The Vedic meditation, he says, helped him evolve into a better person. He now wants his neighbours in Mumbai's Dharavi to benefit from it too.
Rao was recently released after 13 years in jail. He had completed most of his sentences and was acquitted in over 30 other cases. Said to have run Chota Rajan's network from inside Mumbai's high security Arthur Road Jail, Rao was accused of crimes ranging from murder to extortion.
