New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday reacted sharply to Union minister Smriti Irani's dig at Rahul Gandhi over the electoral loss in Assam, warning that ego of those in power destroys them.
"Ego is the biggest enemy of those in power... Our earnest request to her (Irani) is that she should focus more on her ministry instead of always targeting the opponents, show them in poor light and ridiculing the opposition," party's chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala told reporters.
In a tongue-in-cheek remark, he said Ms Irani is very well educated and one does not know from which all universities she has got qualifications.
In an online ugly spat with Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi, Ms Irani had remarked that losing Assam was Rahul's forte.
