External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today called on Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in New Delhi before formal talks.
"The week begins with Maldives. EAM @SushmaSwaraj calls on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom before formal talks," foreign ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said in a tweet.
Earlier, Ms Swaraj had visited Maldives in November 2014 and again in October 2015 for the India-Maldives Joint Commission, held after 15 years.
President Yameen would also call on President Pranab Mukherjee today.

President Yameen, who is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day, is on a two-day trip to India.
