North Cachar Hills:
Four days after his arrest, Jewel Garlosa, one of the most wanted men in the country today is still behind a mask.
"The man was spending 55000 rupees in body clinics, in anti-ageing, beautification, face lifts etc.," said G M Srivastava, DGP Assam.
But Garlosa's arrest is expected to impact the terror run in the hills where the Centre has set a month's deadline to resolve the crisis.
Meanwhile the National Investigation Agency has begun working on its first assignment investigating the nexus between militants and government functionaries in N C Hills.
"Now things are leading to things beyond the state of Assam even to foreign countries so it will be easier for the national body to investigate," said G M Srivastava.
Following a few quick arrests and encounters by security forces, there's an uneasy calm in the hills but the DHD(J) is expected to retaliate.
And with the government making it clear that the option of ceasefire with DHD(J) is not relevant any longer, it is going to be a long summer of combat in the North Cachar Hills of Assam.
