Allahabad:
Two days after the ashram stampede that killed over 60 people, the incident was said to be a result of a series of shocking lapses, but the probe seems inclined towards a cover up. (Read & Watch: UP ashram stampede: Villages in mourning)
The preliminary investigation report by the Allahabad Commissioner has clearly blamed the ashram authorities.
The report says the administration did not take proper control of the situation before and after the incident.
The FIR has been filed against unnamed people.
The ashram claims it had submitted a letter to the district administration about the event and crowds were expected. However, the state did not make adequate arrangement to control the crowd. (Read: UP ashram stampede: No lessons learnt?)
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has now put the onus of providing relief to the Centre.
Now the same ashram trust, headed by Kripalu Maharaj is preparing to hold another community meal in Vrindavan. It seems no lessons have been learnt.
